THIS IS BALI......!!!!!

We arrived in beautiful Bali last Saturday after a 3:00 AM wake up in Bangkok to catch a 6:15 AM flight.  So our adventure began.....we arrived at Meg's gorgeous, traditional Balinese house and jumped right into the pool.  She had some friends over and we all had lunch.  After our naps, we all went out to dinner at a wonderful Italian restaurant, called SaSa.  It was one of her friend's B-day so we had a party of 12 people.  After dinner we went to a champagne bar and continued the celebration....it was a long day.

Bali is party central.....every night there's some place to go and with an entourage...not much working going on here.  No sooner have you finished your dinner, then, they start planning about where to go the next night.  That's why you haven't heard much from me since we've been here.  There's hardly any time to sleep.

We've seen the Emerald Buddha at the Grand Palace and the Reclining Buddha at the Temple of the Reclining Buddha.....what a sight they are....gorgeous beyond belief!  The mosaic work on the buildings are spectacular.  You have to have your shoulders covered when you go into the temples and also have to take off your shoes.  So the day we went to the Grand Palace I was wearing a sleeveless top so I had to put on Marcus' parker to walk through the Palace in the unrelenting heat.  It was so humid and we were drenched when we left.  The traffic is horrible.  You go bumper to bumper through the streets.  Fortunately the cabs are cheap.  We went for the best mani and pedi that I have ever had....2 hrs. and 45mins. of nirvana.  We were like limp dolls when we left the place...so relaxed and beautified.

Well, we made it without a hitch....10 hours and 15 minutes to Japan.... We had a lay over in Narita filled with sushi & sake.  Then 5 hours and 45 minutes to Bangkok, but whose counting.   We are well ensconced at Le Meridien, a gorgeous place with the staff bowing to you all over the place.  The people are very nice...and most accommodating. We had a gourmet breakfast....pictures below.  We'll be lounging by the pool this afternoon.  Rough day, don't you think??  Ta ta for now....Love, S

It's almost D day!

One week from today and I'm out of here.  It's going to be quite an adventure.  We fly out of LA to Japan, change planes and then on to Bangkok.  I'll check in again after I've recovered from the journey.
